aula evaluation
aula was tested in four pilot schools during the 2016/17 and 2017/18 school years. You can read our findings here.
For schools
1. Guidelines for schools [German]
These guidlines offer background information on the aula project, instructions for implementing it in your school, and detailed lesson guidelines and resources (CC-BY licence)
2. aula software
The online platform is open source and accessible to anyone (AGPLv3 licence).
Requirements for installing aula on your school server:
- Someone who is able to function as a Linux Sysadmin
- A Linux server with root access
- A backup procedure
The code and further information are available at Gitlab. A detailed installation instruction will follow.
Even though we have tried to simplify the installation as much as possible, you still need an administrator with basic Linux knowledge.
We are currently looking for the possibility of central hosting so that individual schools do not have to install and host the software themselves. Current information will appear here. There is also the possibility to have the hosting managed by us. The costs vary depending on the support effort. If you are interested simply write an email to info@aula.de .
3. Further resources for schools
- “The Idea Phase“ poster for display in classrooms [German] [pdf]
- Example contract for schools [German] [docx]
